50 Cent wins “P.I.M.P” lawsuit

PIMP PIMP, HOORAY….

It looks like your boy, 50 Cent, finally caught a DUB from the judicial system as a judge has recently dismissed the lawsuit against the rapper in which he was accused of fraud.

OOOOH, YES..

SO PEEP..

Back in June, producer Brandon Parrott sued the 40-year-old “Many Men,” rapper along with producer Denaun Porter, UMG Recordings, Interscope, Aftermath Records, Shady Records and EMI Music Publishing alleging they wrongfully obtained the rights to a music sample featured in Fif’s smash Get Rich Or Die Trying track, “P.I.M.P.”

WELL…

In response to the suit over the 13-year-old song, 50’s team moved to dismiss the case in September based on the agreed upon terms of an earlier settlement–which reportedly made it clear that Brandon couldn’t sue because of the royalties he received as well as his shared ownership of the track.
And on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge S. James Otero agreed with them…

“[No] reasonable music composer in Parrott’s position could have relied ‘in good faith’ upon a co-producer’s statements that the composer’s music had ‘mistakenly’ been incorporated into millions of infringing tracks without anyone notifying or crediting him,” Judge Otero wrote in his dismissal of the fraud complaint. “Moreover, assuming the truth of Parrott’s FAC [first amended complaint], as the Court must at this stage, the only plausible inference is that Parrott failed to conduct any investigation in the truth behind Porter’s statements. Thus, Parrott’s own allegations defeat his claims.”

DAMNNNNN…

And in celebration of his win, 50 Cent hopped on Instagram to partake in one of his favorite pastimes, making fun of Ja Rule…

CHECK IT OUT…
