Ain’t No Blackface, Bih: Kim Kardashian apologizes for Aaliyah Halloween costume

Kim Kardashian is falling on her sword for “offending” die-hard stans of Aaliyah after dressing up as the late “Try Again” chanteuse in celebration of Halloween.
“Aaliyah was such an amazing singer and she will forever be a music legend,”Kanye West’s 37-year-old bride said in a statement. “I saw online that some people thought my costume was in poor taste and I am truly sorry if that offended anyone.”

Donning a diamond encrusted bra and leather pants similar to those worn by the deceased diva in the visuals for her smash hit featured on the Romeo Must Die soundtrack (2000), Kim K took to Snap Chat, last weekend, showing off her frigidly-received tribute to the R&B legend.
“When I was creating the costume, I wasn’t dressing up as a race or culture but rather as a woman whom I will always admire,” Kim confessed. “I play every kind of genre of music in my home and I like for my kids to be exposed to many different artists. For me, it’s always about love and respect.”
Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in 2001, was only one of the many celebrities the voluptuous Keeping Up With the Kardashians vixen dressed up as for this year’s most costume-centric holiday.
Kim also slayed as pop icon, Cher, and late “Dreaming Of You” singer, Selena. On Saturday, the mother of two disgusted herself as Madonna while her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, dressed up as Michael Jackson.
Closing her public apology for infuriating fans of Hip-Hop’s adored “One In A Million” crooner, Yeezy’s wife said, “I loved that Kourtney was Michael Jackson for one of her costumes, and that my son was Axl Rose. We don’t see color in my home. We were paying homage to people and artists we love and respect — it’s that simple!”
