Baaaaad Man: Officials call for a criminal investigation of R. Kelly

The Chairman of Georgia’s Fulton County Board of Commissioners is calling for a criminal investigation of “Your Body’s Calling Me” crooner, R. Kelly, citing freshly surfaced evidence pertaining to his alleged sex-cult.

Just weeks after officials fired off a letter to Live Nation requesting the concert organizers cancel the 50-year-old embattled virtuoso’s approaching performance at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Aug. 25–in light of rising concerns he’s manipulated six young women into sexually abusive and psychologically damaging captivity in both his Georgia and Illinois residences–the Board of Commissioners claims it now has sufficient proof that can lead to the unmasking of R. Kelly’s presumed predatory practices.

On Friday, Commission Chairman John Eaves said investigators have uncovered new information surrounding the allegations against Kells that’s “severely raised the level of concern,” according to Fox5.

“I believe the citizens of Fulton County deserve this investigation,” the Chairman said during a news conference, today. “I”m going to stress to the [Fulton County] district attorney that a full investigation be done, because I believe questions should be answered.”

The chairman released the following statement Friday morning ahead of the news conference:

A detailed local investigation by the John Creek Police Department has provided key information that we believe is enough evidence that gives the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office all it needs to advance a criminal investigation of the well-known allegations.

Today, I am asking District Attorney Paul Howard and his investigative officers and prosecutors to fully review the report of the Johns Creek Police and follow every lead—no matter where it leads, or who it implicates, and bring those persons to swift justice.

No one should be above the law, because of their income or their zip code. And we will not allow our young girls and young women to be preyed upon by predators or anyone who aims to brainwash and strip them of their human dignity and their right to be free.

Again, as a father of a teenager daughter and a responsible leader in this community, we have a moral responsibility to stand up for people who cannot protect themselves. Today, I am asking our Fulton County Justice officials to do just that. If we won’t protect our young girls and young women, who will?

Claims of the newly found and damning evidence against R. Kelly comes a few days after the parents of 22-year-old Joycelyn Savage–an aspiring singer believed to be held against her will in the 12 Play creator’s exploitive web of “brainwashed” women–held a press conference in which they, through their attorney, begged him to allow them a visit with their daughter while he’s in town touring.

At this point, aside from calling the rumors of his cult “a bunch of crap,” R. Kelly has yet to openly comment on his latest controversy.
