Baby Talk: Lamar Odom’s daughter spills on his “toxic” relationship with Khloe Kardashian

BLAME IT ON KHLO…

“I think that my dad has an addictive personality, so he was addicted to the attention he got with Khloe more than me. It was a very toxic relationship,” the daughter of embattled ex-NBA baller, Lamar Odom, revealed in her first address to the public since 2015.

While chopping it up with People/Entertainment Weekly for a special feature, Surviving A Father’s Addiction: Lamar Odom’s Family Speaks Out, Destiny Odom spilled guts about her difficult relationship with ex-stepmom, Khloe Kardashian, and how the 32-year-old reality baddie’s marriage to her once- L.A. Lakers balling dad shook up everything.
“Things changed when my dad married Khloe. Things were a lot more public,” the 17-year-old fashion-minded student said. “When your dad’s an NBA player that’s already enough, but when he’s marrying a reality TV star, things are so public and you don’t have a private life anymore.”
Destiny–who fondly remembers being 12 and watching Khloe and her surgically slayed squad navigate a series of shenanigans on their family’s E! Network show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians— explained how Lamar’s romantic affiliation with Kim K’s coin’ed-up baby sis created problems for her at school.
“There were regular snide comments at school. And when his addiction became public, then it became a social media thing,” Destiny served. “Even people that I thought were my friends were saying stuff on social media. It was humiliating.”
As for her strained relationship with the snatched Good American jeans pusher, Lamar’s daughter said, “I tried for my dad. I wouldn’t say it was a matter of my dad loving Khloe more than me.”

When L.O. was hospitalized after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, Khlo-Money–with whom the ball player had been in the throes of a divorce with for years–rushed to the 6′ 10″ hooper’s side… an action Destiny says left, “a lot of people in [their] circle confused.”
Regardless of the Kardashian’s motives, the oldest of Lamar’s three children says since his health scare, her father, who she last spoke to several months ago, is now more “open and apologetic.”

“I’ve had conversation with him just letting him know that I want him to get help,” Destiny said. “But at the end of the day he’s a grown man and you have to want it for yourself.”
