BET Hip Hop Awards 2014

The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards was TOUGH!
Known for it’s dynamic cyphs and WILD live performance, this year’s award ceremony did NOT let it’s audience down.
Rae Sremmurd KICKED the evening off with, “No Flex Zone,” sans Nicki Minaj who blessed the track’s remix.
Host of the event, Snoop Dogg, POPPED OFF EARLY as he took a stab at some comedy, making the gangsters in the crowd chuckle.
Though we STRONGLY feel he should stick to rapping, The Doggfather actually did his thing as Emcee.
Throughout the show he cut to short skits featuring MUVA Nia Long as he acting as her unrequited love interest in her hit films.
OD HILARIOUS.
Rich Gang WAS HYPE to take home the first award of the night right before bringing out Birdman as they performed, “Lifestyle.”
Though the performances were TIGHT the “Chyps” were JUST alright.
The first cypher lead by Wiz Khalifa, who dressed like a white girl making a 2 am run to Quick Check, was  DRY AF.
Whereas lesser known rappers like Detroit Che, Logic, and G-Eazy OWNED their respective Chyps.
But the CYPH OF THE NIGHT AWARD goes to Harlem rapper, MURDA MOOK, who had social media BUGGING as he spit.
The Hip Hop Awards, usually quite ghetto, took an IMPACTFUL PAUSE as the entire audience raised surrendered hands during a moment of silence in remembrance for slain teenager, Michael Brown. The ever-socially conscious Common brought Mike’s parents on stage for an EXTREMELY MOVING close to his performance.
The Human Beat Box, Doug E. Fresh GAVE US another memorable moment that had MASCARA running down our CHEEKS.
Honored with the “I am Hip Hop,” award, Doug E. fought back tears as he acknowledge  his mother who passed away just 5 WEEKS before the show was tapped.
He MAINTAINED SWAG and shut the stage DOWN with fellow old head rapper Snoop as they TORE UP the classic record, “La Di Da Di.”
BET WAS NOT DONE SHOWING OFF THERE.
The network SHOCKED 90s music fans EVERYWHERE when they SERVED Brandy, MC Lyte, Yo Yo and Queen Latifah for their 20 year anniversary performance of “I Wanna Be Down (remix).”
YASSSSSSSSS.
And WHO BETTER to dance the program to it’s close than Brooklyn rapper, Bobby Shmurda.
The kid who has EVERY ASS BODY screaming “ABOUT A WEEK AGO,” and tossing their hats, caps, and quick weaves hit the SHMONEY dance with fatty, Terio, at his side.
Though there was more “SHOW” than there were awards handed out, we must say the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards was the BEST 2 hours we EVER spent watching BET.
GOOD JOB Black Entertainment Television.
 FINALLY.
