Black History honey: Rachel Lindsay becomes first black  “Bachelorette” & Twitter goes nuts

“I’m just trying to find love. Even though I’m an African-American woman, it’s no different than any other Bachelorette,” reality TV game-changer, Rachel Lindsay, said during her initial interview following the announcement she’ll serve as ABC’s first black leading lady on the network’s legendary dating competition show.

Today, the 31-year-old Dallas based attorney– who stole hearts as a contestant on Nick Viall’s currently-airing season of The Bachelor–took her talents to Good Morning America where she spilled on becoming the only woman of color to ever serve as the Bachelorette in the upcoming season 13 of longstanding television series…
“I’m honored to have this opportunity and to represent myself as an Africa-American woman. And I just hope that people rally behind me like they did in Nick’s season,” Rachel said after assuring host, Michael Strahan, that she does NOT feel any “added pressure” about being the first female to represent her community in this capacity.

When asked how she plans to avoid some of common pitfalls that have popped up in the past on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Rachel said, “I just like to keep it 100 and keep it real. So I just figure, if I stay true to myself, it’ll be a successful show.”

Twitter is all over the place about having a black bachelorette for the first time ever..
