Last night (Feb. 22), Hip-Hop head honchos Common and John Legend took home the Oscar for “Best Original Song,” from the civil rights movement motion picture, “Selma.”

YASSSSSS.

Shortly after the 42-year-old Chi-town rapper and his singing counterpart brought celebs like Chris Pine and David Oyelowo to TEARS during

a powerful live performance of their award winning song “Glory,” the Academy blessed the pair with a little gold guy rewarding them for their work of art.

AND HONEY….

BLACK TWITTER WENT CRAZY!

Hollywood’s finest and the general public alike couldn’t MOVE THEIR THUMBS quick enough as they TOO TO TWITTER to praise Common and John Legend for their historic win glorifying Dr. Martin Luther King’s historic plight.

PEEP HOW GLAD BLACK TWITTER WAS WHEN “GLORY” WAS NAMED BEST ORIGINAL SONG AT THE 87th ACADEMY AWARDS:

Common and John’s win softened the BLOW when “Slema” did NOT take home the “Best Picture” award.

LUCKILY, BLACK TWITTER DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO ROAST THE OSCARS FOR THE “L”… CAUSE IT WAS TOO BUSY REJOICING THE “W.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT JOHN LEGEND AND COMMON’s PERFORMANCE / WIN LAST NIGHT?
