May 21st has been forever memorialized in Brooklyn, NY as borough president, Eric Adams, has declared the date “Christopher Wallace Day,” in honor of the late great Notorious B.I.G.

Earlier this week, Adams hosted the Bed-Stuy native’s daughter, T’yanna Wallace, his right hand man, Lil Cease, and a grip of Hip-Hop heads at a ceremony during which he deemed the late emcee’s birthday a regional holiday..

“Brooklyn salutes one of our own, who has never been forgotten as long as his music plays,”president Adams said at the day dedication event. “On his birthday, his energy will remain and continue to inspire people throughout not only the borough of Brooklyn but Biggie put Brooklyn on the map.”

 
BIG–who has often been referred to as the greatest rapper in history by genre fanatics–was tragically gunned down in a drive by shooting back in 1997 at the age of 24. His killer remains at large. 
In honor of the “Ready to Die” spitter’s legacy, thousands of fans have taken to Twitter to wish the rap lord a happy birthday, today..
