Brotherly Love: Eddie Murphy speaks on sudden death of brother, Charlie Murphy


In the aftermath of the tragic loss of his older brother, Charlie Murphy, Hollywood head honcho, Eddie Murphy, has release a tear-jerking statement on behalf of himself and his family.

“Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle and friend Charlie,” the renown comedian said of his 57-year-old Black Jesus starring sibling who loss his private battle with leukemia in an NYC hospital on Wednesday.

“Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed,” Eddie continued. “Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”

Back in 2009, Charlie Murphy’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, died after her two-year fight with cancer. The couple shared two children, Ava and Xavier.

Charlie also fathered a son from a previous relationship.
