BURRRRRR: Gucci Mane biopic in the works

Gucci Mane’s life story is coming to a theater near you…

Born Radric Delantic Davis, the trap music pioneer and newly married ice aficionado is set to adapt his New York Times bestseller, The Autobiography Of Gucci Mane, into a feature film produced by Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment—which produces hit music industry show, Empire, and was behind Eminem’s classic film 8 Mile.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, both Paramount and Imagine have exclusively retained the life rights to the “I️ Get The Bag” rhymer, as well as the movie rights to his book.

Imagine’s Chairman, Brian Grazer and President, Erica Huggins have been tapped to produce Gucci’s cinematic piece, while the 1017 representative and Todd Moscowitz are set to serve as the film’s executive producers.

Guwop’s forthcoming biopic, similar to his autobiography, will likely follow his journey from a poverty-stricken East Atlanta drug dealer—struggling with addiction, beefs, and several run-ins with the law—to one of Hip-Hop’s most prolific figures.

So far, no word on when the “Black Beatles” boomer’s biopic will begin filming.
