But Before We Calendar Flip: Top 7 Edge-Snatchiest dramas of 2017

Remy Ma Nicki Minaj

Beefier than the East Coast vs. West Coast rivalry that plagued the culture throughout the early 90s, the crimson blobs of bad blood between lady lyricists, Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj, stained Hip-Hop’s silky swag all throughout 2017.

Popping off in February, Remy fired the first lyrical shots at her Queens reppin foe with “ShETHER.”

Leaving most music heads with their jaws to the floors, the Love And Hip Hop New York star mercilessly taunted Nicki—for whole azz 7 minutes—with digs about her alleged plastic surgeries, struggly sex life with ex-boyfriend Meek Mill… and even trolled the “Anaconda” emcee over her older brother’s child rape charges.

Reveling in her seemingly unanimous victory, Rem attempted to capitalize off of her glory with follow up diss track, “Another One.” However, her doubled lyrical efforts were frigidly received.

After weeks on weeks on weeks of staying quite, in March, Nicki finally emerged from the depths of muteness with clap back, “No Frauds” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne.

Debuting at #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop sales charts and #14 on the US Billboard Hot 100, Minaj’s shade-ridden response to Remy’s mess helped reposition her at the top of rap’s elite class.

After the diss tracks were all released, fighting words between the female rappers and their fans continued to fly across social media, during interviews, and on wax for months.

Traces of their beef can now only be found in slickly worded innuendos and overly-dissected rhymes, as both ladies seem to have placed their hatred for one another on the back burner.

Kevin Hart

Irresponsibility took on a petite frame, this year, when comedian Kevin Hart found himself entangled in a multi-million dollar sex-extortion scandal in the midst of his wife’s pregnancy.

In September, the 38-year-old Ride Along funny man dedicated a serious Instagram post to his then 7-month pregnant spouse, Eniko Parrish, and two children—from his previous marriage—in which he apologized for cheating during an impromptu birthday trip to Vegas, in August.

Kevin’s public mea culpa was reportedly made after a woman threatened to leak footage of his extramarital escapades unless he paid her several million dollars.

Despite the extortioner’s alleged demand for money, clips for the Get Hard actor’s sex tape with 27-year-old aspiring singer, Montia Sabagg, leaked online…and further plunged Kev down the pit of philandering pig hell.

From there, an FBI investigation was launched, seeing both Kevin and his side-piece cooperating with law enforcement to finger their extorter.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood honcho’s long-suffering wifey—who, earlier this year, was dragged by online savages accusing her of ruining Kev’s first marriage to Torrei Hart—remained quietly by his side, and prepared to welcome their first child together.

A few weeks after hosting a $119K Lion King themed baby shower, Eniko gave birth to a baby boy she and the Central Intelligence star named Kenzo.

With the sex-extortion scandal in their rear view mirror, and a bouncing bundle of baby boy joy in their arms, it seems Kevin’s marriage has/will continue to survive his crazy creeping chaos.

During a recent interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, the Jumanji slayer openly copped to his martial infractions, and revealed that his wife is still in the process of forgiving him.

Tyrese meltdown

“What more do you want from me,” will now eternally be synonymous with the name, Tyrese Gibson, thanks to the actor’s excruciatingly emotional online shares during his messy custody beef with ex-wife, Norma Gibson.

Shortly after marrying his new wife/ “black queen,” Samantha Lee, the 38-year-old Fast And Furious actor was slapped with child abuse charges via the mother of his 10-year-old daughter, Shayla.

At the dawn of fall, Norma filed legal documents claiming that back in August, Tyrese “went into a rage, pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.”

She alleged that Shayla then “begged for mercy”—which only caused him to beat her again—leaving to kid unable to sit afterwards “due to the pain she was experiencing.”

Despite Tyrese’s vehement denial of the child abuse accusations, the Los Angeles Department Of Child and Family services launched an investigation into his alleged rage.

Due to the severity of the charges, the R&B singer-turned-big screen megastar remained estranged from his daughter for over two months.

During that time, he went to out-of-pocket lengths to establish contact with the little girl—including serenading her with Marvin Gaye’s classic sex track, “Let’s Get It On,” flying a “Daddy Loves You” banner over her school, and sporting “Shayla Rocks” sweatshirts everyday.

However, Tyrese’s most egregious move as executed via social media, where the vocalist tearfully begged Norma to allow him time with their baby girl, and unveiled his rapid fall into destitution as a result of legal fees and child support payments.

He later blamed his watery-eyed meltdown on a bad reaction to psychiatric meds.

In the end, the DCFS closed their case against the “broke” actor, and the judge granted him joint custody of Shayla.

Most recently, Ty took to Instagram claiming his ex-wife’s lies have stopped him from making $30 million over the last decade.

This week, he and his wife hopped on their private plane to celebrate his 39th birthday in Turks & Caicos.

Usher herpes

What started out to be nothing more than a few freshly exhumed legal documents in a case between Usher Raymond and a celebrity stylist exploded into a sh**storm of side-eyes and lawsuits against the “Burn” singer, accused of exposing several women—and a man—to genital herpes.

In July, official papers surfaced via RadarOnline, accusing the “U Got It Bad” harmonizer of failing to disclose his alleged STD infection to the stylist—who, after engaging in “rigorous” unprotected intercourse for weeks, was diagnosed with herpes.

From there, a gaggle of complainants came forward claiming to have also unknowingly been exposed to Usher’s disease… Including jazz singer Laura Helm, 21-year-old single mother Quantasia Sharpton, and a man who says he and the “You Make Me Wanna” crooner got it poppin in a Los Angeles massage salon.

After weeks of silence on the matter, the married Grammy award winner finally responded to his flurry of lawsuits, poking holes in his accsuers’ stories rather than denying claims of his herpes infection.

In November, Laura Helm’s $20 million case against the “Confessions” crooner was officially dismissed.

All other STD related suits plaguing Usher have seemingly fallen out of the limelight, for now.

He and his wife/manger, Grace Miguel, celebrated their two-year anniversary in September, and are still going strong.

Usher has yet to directly confirm or deny his alleged herpes diagnosis.

Blac Chyna Rob Kardashian

Social media served as center stage for 2017’s most OD celebrity mess: the break up of Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna.

Turning an average Wednesday in July into a treacherous tornado of digital drags and tormenting trolls, Dream Kardashian’s famous parents held nothing back as they maliciously exposed one another’s wrongdoings across Snap Chat, Instagram, and Twitter.

Armed with a series of incriminating text-message screenshots, nasty-girl nude, dirty drug abuse allegations and messy cheating receipts, Rob Kardashian hopped on IG blasting his 29-year-old then-fiancé for her many relationship infractions… after she went public with her new boo, at the time.

Kim Kardashian’s 30-year-old brother took his vengeance a step further by sharing intimate pictures of Blac Chyna, in the nude, and on a hospital bed preparing to undergo over $100K plastic surgery after birthing their daughter.

As a result of Rob’s angry posts, the ex-stripper—alongside famed attorney Lisa Bloom—filed a 7-figure revenge porn lawsuit against him, accused the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star of abuse, and requested a domestic violence restraining order.

In response, Rob and his clan of K-named sisters clapped back at Chyna with official claims of abuse, vandalism, and child neglect on her part.

Most recently, Chyna agreed to drop her restraining order request in exchange for $20K/a month child support payments from Rob.

She’s in the throes of suing his entire family for allegedly using their influence of the E! Network to have her reality series Rob And Chyna prematurely cancelled.

The Kardashians have reportedly denied sis’ assertions, and blame HER for the show’s ending.

Cardi B Offset

While most new-age baes wait 8 years before even considering marriage, Migos’ Offset barely waited 8 months before dropping down on one knee and asking Cardi B to be his Bad And Boujee bride.

While slaying the Powerhouse concert at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, in October, the 26-year-old “T-Shirt” spitter popped the big question to the “Bodak Yellow” chart topper with a $500K teardrop-shaped diamond ring, in front of over 19,000 screaming fans.

Breathlessly, the regular degular Bronx native said yes.

Soon after, a Tour de France between major culture-based television networks erupted, seeing each brand vying for exclusive rights to document and broadcast Cardi and Offset’s nuptials—offering the newly engaged lovers deals similar to Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’Oir’s multi-million dollar BET wedding special.

Putting all competitors to rest, Love And Hip Hop creator, Mona Scott Young, immediately took to social media stating he claim on the couple’s coveted coverage rights; however, the “Lick” rhyming love birds have yet to confirm or deny inking a wedding special deal with anyone, yet.

Over the Christmas holiday, Cardi and Offset were targeted in a cheating/ cell phone hack scandal—seeing nude images of the 25-year-old “Gangsta B***h” rapper leaked, along with clips of another naked woman in a hotel room with Set.

Surprisingly, the emcee honeys jumped on Instagram Live assuring fans that their relationship would remain in-tact despite the “Ice Tray” lyricist’s supposed creeping.

As for the hacking of his phone, Cardi has reportedly enlisted the help of her legal reps to finger the party(s) responsible for her boo’s privacy breach.

Today, a well known rap groupie has come forward claiming to be pregnant with Offset’s daughter.

So far, neither he nor Cardi have commented on homegirl’s allegations.

Beyonce Twins

Queen Bey kicked off Black History Month 2017 by collecting each and everyone of our wigs, toupees, edges, thin mustache hairs, etc. with the unveiling of her doubly-packed baby bump.

On February 1, the then 35-year-old barrier-breaking Lemonade songstress sweetened up our live by announcing she and her equally poppin husband, Jay-Z, were expecting twins.

Before we could all barely regained composure, a pregnant Yonce, dipped in gold, defied the laws of physics, gravity, and fan-love fairness with a show-stopping performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

On June 12, after months of anxiously waiting and baby bump watching, the “Sorry” singer gave birth to a twins, Sir and Rumi Carter.

Shortly after welcoming new additions to their brood, Jay dropped his highly anticipated 4:44 album—a confessional project centered around the Brooklyn native’s nearly marriage-ending infidelities.

Despite his many indiscretions, HOV and Bey’s marriage is now stronger than ever, according to the “Family Feud” rapper—who‘s dubbed the honesty in his music a therapeutic exercise in love and trust rebuilding..

Plagued with unsightly social divides, horrendously devastating hurricanes, a SO NASTY SO RUDE nectarine-shaded Commander-In-Chief, and our Top 7 most edge-snatching occurrences….it’s a wonder we all survived 2017.

Here’s to growing back out yanked-out baby hairs in the upcoming calendar change!
