Caught & Cuffed: Man arrested for the murder of Rihanna’s cousin

Justice, for Rihanna’s family, is being served as police in Barbados have arrested a man in connection to the senseless murder of the “Umbrella” crooner’s younger cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne.

One day after Christmas, a time observed as Barbados’ Boxing Day celebration, RiRi’s 21-year-old kin was fatally shot, multiple times, while walking home in the St. Michael area of the country.

Immediately following the shooting, Tavon was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Upon news of his passing, a mourning Rihanna took to Instagram with a series of images shared in his honor, and a plea to end gun violence.

"It's nice to wake up" Be grateful for life man. #RIPTavon @merka_95

Rihanna’s cousin

On Wednesday, 23-year-old Shawayne DaShawn Williams was arrested and charged with the killing of Tavon, according to Barbados Today.

At the time of his detainment, Shawayne was not required to enter a plea, even though witnesses claim he appeared emotionless as the charges were read to him.

Two of the shooting victim’s sisters were reportedly amongst the many onlookers crowded around the courthouse as Shawayne was taken into custody.

Per reports, the presumed perpetrator will be held in prison until his next court appearance on January 31, 2018.

Thus far, no motives behind the heinous crime have been publicly revealed.
