Russell Simmons‘ sexual assault accuser tried extorting him for $500K

Money talks.

And if you let Russell Simmons tell it, a woman who fingered him for sexual assault attempted to talk him into giving her several hefty baggggggs.

On the heels of being accused of sexual misconduct by at least 13 women, the 60-year-old Hip-Hop veteran recently revealed an alleged victim tried extorting him for half of a million dollars.

“In recent weeks, some former business, creative and romantic partners have aired grievances as claims I categorically reject. In some of these instances, financial motives and direct contradictory witness testimony has been supplied to the media, which has been completely left out of stories,” he said in a statement obtained by ABC.

“In the last few days, one woman attempted to extort me for $500,000 only to recant her ridiculous claim. The current allegations range from the patently untrue to the frivolous and hurtful. The presumption of innocent until proven guilty must not be replaced by ‘guilty by association,'” Russ added.

On Tuesday, two women filed official criminal complaints of sexual misconduct against the disgraced mogul with the NYPD.

The issuing of their police reports came mere hours after the former Def Jam president announced his plan to temporarily shelve his #NotMe movement—a campaign he launched, in November, in effort to defend himself against the “horrific” allegations—to allow all sexual assault victims the space to freely disclose on their abuses.

Russell has denied claims of his inappropriateness, and maintained his innocence in the matter, saying “all of my relations have been consensual.”
