Exposing Mommy: Jay-Z reveals his mom is a lesbian via “4:44” track

SPILLING GUTS…

When he wasn’t busy un-closeting the infidelities he’s made throughout his five marriage to wife, Beyonce, on freshly dropped album, 4:44, Jay-Z was openly calling his mother’s previously closeted homosexuality to centerstage…

COME ON, MAMA…

As the genre continues establishing it’s developing alliance with the once collectively shamed LGBT community, Tidal’s 47-year-old Commander-in-Chief chose to expose the trials his mom, Gloria Carter, endured from a lifetime of suppressing her same-sex orientation…

“Mama had four kids, but she’s a lesbian/ Had to pretend so long that she’s a thespian,” HOV spits on new track “Smile.”

“Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate/Society shame and the pain was too much to take/Cried tears of joy when you fell in love/Don’t matter to me if it’s a him or her/I just wanna see you smile through all the hate/Marie Antoinette, baby, let ’em eat cake,” he raps.

Later on the song, Jay–who recently became the first Hip-Hop artist to ever be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame–invites his mom to deliver a powerful outro on which she says, “Can you imagine what kind of life it is to live?/In the shadows people see you as happy and free/Because that’s what you want them to see/Living two lives, happy, but not free.”
Gloria adds, “The world is changing and they say it’s time to be free / But you live with the fear of just being me… But life is short, and it’s time to be free / Love who you love, because life isn’t guaranteed.”

Back in 2012, Blue Ivy’s (and the newly birth Carter Twins) daddy revealed his support of gay marriage to CNN saying, “I’ve always thought [banning same-sex couples from tying the knot] was still, um, holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”
