Felony Where??: Mel B swerves prosecution in witness intimidation case

Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice, has dodged having to face a scary day in court as the law has decided NOT to prosecute the divorcing pop icon for allegedly intimidating a witness in her domestic violence case against estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte.

Felony witness tampering allegations won’t be dampening the moves of the 42-year-old member of British girl power promoters, the Spice Girls, as the “Stop” singer is in the clear after being accused of sending threatening text messages to Sisterhood of Hip-Hop rapper, Siya, who planned to testify against her in divorce court.

As previously reported on Cheekywiki, Siya—who claims to have been friendly with Mel and Stephen before the couple called their decade-long marriage quits—was reportedly prepared to contradict the America’s Got Talent judge’s claims that her husband subjected her to physical abuse.

Per reports, the aspiring emcee was also gearing up to tell the courts of Mel B’s alleged illegal drug use as well as her penchant for orchestrating ménage à trois between herself, Stephen, and their family nanny, Lorraine Giles.

After some examination, the L.A. County D.A., according to TMZ, says it will not move forward because the text messages Mel sent to Siya were “too vague” to be clearly interpreted as threats. The messages also don’t show that the “Wanna Be” boomer was even aware the rapper was going to testify against her.

Though Mel has successfully swerved a sentence for sending slyly worded shots at Siya, the “Say You’ll Be There” songstress’ request all records in her divorce and restraining order cases be sealed was denied on Tuesday.

As it stands, the courtroom and all their ugly truths will be opened to public as she and Stephen duke it out in front of a judge.
