Get Help: DMX’s house arrest order lifted for voluntary drug rehab program

DMX won’t be Slippin back into his old drug abuse patterns anytime soon.

On Tuesday, Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff lifted the 46-year-old troubled Ruff Ryders representative’s home confinement sentence, freeing the rapper to attend an inpatient rehab program after he repeatedly tested positive for cocaine and marijuana while
out on bail for 14 counts of tax fraud.

The court’s Pretrial Services Office which supervises X while he’s out on bail, according to PageSix, issued a letter to the judge requesting he grant the “Party Up” spitter– who was handed a super strict house arrest bid and forced to wear an ankle monitor after failing several drug tests in the wake of his $1.7 million tax-evasion case– the ability to willingly undergo treatment.

“This is a voluntary move on his part,” the New York native’s lawyer, Murray Richman, told the New York Daily News.

Though granted permission to travel to Atlanta for work, on Friday–under the condition he go accompanied by a hired “sober coach” who’d ensure he steers clear of ingesting illegal substance–DMX’s Peach State plans fell through, according to his attorney, which lead to him deciding to enter into a substance-abuse program.

Per the written court order, pretrial services have approved the plan and prosecutors haven’t opposed it.
