Ghost Writer, WHERE? Cardi B signs worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music

There seems to be no shortage of blessings being bestowed upon Bronx-bred boomer, Cardi B.

And on the bloody heels of becoming the second female artist in history to singlehandedly touch Billboard Hot 100 chart eminence, the “Bodak Yellow” spitter has just inked a worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

Noted as “one of a rare breed of unique artists who the industry only witnesses occasionally,” by Sony/ATV co-president, Rick Krim, in a statement announcing the partnership, Cardi took to Instagram thanking Sony for acknowledging her writing skills and trolling all the “maf**kas” who’ve called her pen into question.

“Thank you [Sony] I’m happy to be a part of your brand and lookin forward to working with you !!,” the 25-year-old ex-stripper wrote. “When eaters be poppin sh** under my comments like oooo “she don’t write her sh**” sooo how I got a publishing deal then? Too much muf**kas done doubted me that’s why I have to just prove it.”

As previously reported on Cheekywiki, a few weeks ago, Cardi—whose debut hit enjoyed a three week run at the top of the Hot 100 charts, has sold nearly 500K digital downloads in the U.S., has been streamed more than 440 million times, and was recently dubbed single of the year at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards—masterfully clapped back at fellow NYC reppin’ emcee/chicken slayer, Azealia Banks, who digitally dragged her for appropriating black culture and lyrically benefiting from the assistance of a Harlem-based ghost writer.

In addition to rubbing her latest win in the faces of her detractors, Cardi also expressed her utter state of bliss over what promises to be an extremely bright future.

“Oooo, I’m so happy to be with my new family Sony/ATV. ‘Bodak Yellow‘ is only the beginning and we’re just getting started,” she said.
