Going Bananas: Chris Brown reportedly facing prosecution & 6 months in jail over pet monkey

Law enforcement is said to be going ape sh** crazy over Chris Brown’s exotic pet.

A few weeks back, the 29-year-old “Ayo” singer unknowingly slipped on a proverbial banana peel when he took to Instagram with a clip of his three-year-old daughter, Royalty Brown, cradling his pet capuchin monkey, Fiji.

Following his IG share, the “Dont Judge Me” singer found himself at the center of social media outrage, as a handful of haters shamed mercilessly him for allowing his toddler to play with a non-domesticated and potentially dangerous animal. Breezy immediately clapped back at detractors, telling everyone to chill out.

Instead of chillin’ TF out, concerned creepers reportedly notified the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, who opened an investigation into the matter.

Per their official research, Chris never got a permit for the exotic pet, according to TMZ… So, authorities got a search warrant.

However, the “Run It” vocalist’s house was run through by the authorities, he voluntarily agreed to surrender the monkey.

Despite handing over his pet, sources claim Chris could still be charged with having a restricted species without a permit—a misdemeanor, that carries a maximum of 6 months in jail.

The case has been turned over to the L.A. City Attorney.

In reaction to the fresh handfuls of sh** being sling on his name, the “Deuces” crooner’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said in a statement:

“As I leave my office in Downtown L.A. and walk past people sleeping on the street on my way to defend people charged by the City Attorney with selling medical marijuana … now spending taxpayer money on investigating monkey business, this completes the circle on his absurdity.”
