HOVA Says: Jay-Z talks NFL protests; says injustice is a “human issue”

“Love trumps hate,” is the powerful message Jay-Z’s promoting as he makes his way around the politically divided country on the 4:44 tour.

On Sunday, HOV dedicated a few moments of his Miami concert to explain the significance of the NFL’s national anthem protest, and emphasize the fact that social injustice has nothing to do with race.

“No matter what’s going on,” the “Kill Jay-Z” rapper began, “love trumps hate.” Speaking to the wave of athletes opting to take a knee against police brutality during the anthem–a trend spurred by former 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick–HOV added, “It isn’t about the flag. It’s about justice and injustice and that’s not a black or white thing. It’s a human issue!”

In the past, Jay’s demonstrated his support for the national anthem protest during the 4:44 tour by donning a Kaepernick jersey onstage.
