Humble Holiday: Jennifer Hudson’s ex granted custody of their son on Thanksgiving

Jennifer Hudson will be left alone to cradle a plate of turkey and stuffing in her arms this Thanksgiving, as her estranged fiancé has been granted custody of their young son for the upcoming holiday.

In the wake of the 36-year-old “Think Like A Man” singer filing for an order of protection against her man of nearly a decade, David Otunga, a messy custody dispute over their 8-year-old boy, David Jr., has erupted.

On Tuesday, J. Hud faced off with her 37-year-old professional wrestling ex in court, where he successfully made his case to spend several hours, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, with his junior on Turkey Day, according to TMZ.

During a court hearing scheduled for Monday, David—who police removed from the home he shared with Jennifer after the Oscar winner accused him of domestic abuse, claiming he might hurt her or their kid—will reportedly ask the judge to vacate the “Spotlight” songstress’ order of protection. He’s said to believe Jennifer vengefully filed for the documents to block him from receiving custody.

At their upcoming court date, Jen’s would-be hubby will also request temporary custody of David Jr., on the grounds he’s the primary caregiver.

David allegedly wants possession of their residence — where he pays rent — during the 2 weeks Jennifer will be traveling for work, between November 26 and December 8.
