Kanye West names Pusha T president of G.O.O.D. Music

G.O.O.D PUSH…

It’s only Monday and rap legend, Pusha T, is already having one of the best week’s ever as he’s recently been named the president of Kanye West’s record label, G.O.O.D. Music.

YASSSSS

SO PEEP…

On the heels of the release of his freestyle over Drake and Meek Mill’s track “R.I.C.O.,” the 38-year-old Virginia representative spilled to Billboard that Ye personally tapped him to serve as Commander-In-Chief of the 11-year-old Hip Hop label nearly four months ago.

While choppin it up with the publication, Pusha explained that Kanye chose him to fill the prestigious role as president of G. O. O. D. Music because he wanted someone to “make it profitable and be very business-oriented about it going forward in a manicured type of way.”

THATS WHATS UP…

As president of the Def Jam imprint, Push we oversee the careers of high-profile artists like John Legend, Common, Teyana Taylor, Big Sean, Kid Kudi, and DUH…himself.

“I always look at it as an opportunity to help the team and I think that artistically, me and Kanye have the same vision,” Pusha T told Billboard. “He respects me as an artist, a really manicured artist. I’m not out here shooting in the dark, doing any and every thing.”

As it pertains to his ability to find new and promising talent for the label, the “Christian Dior Denim Flow” spitter said, “[Kanye] knows I’m outside all the time. He knows that I’m of the people. He knows that I’m in those specific mixes of things that are bubbling up, whether it’s online or before it even really gets hot online. He knows I study those different avenues.”

AND AS FOR YEEZY…

The 38-year-old “Power” emcee will focus his talents on being an executive producer of G.O.O.D. Music.

“I think we’ll be getting the best out of him, executive producing projects that come from the label from here on out because he gets to really hone in as a producer,” Pusha served.

“I’ll take care of all the logistics, the rallying of the troops, and so on and so forth. He don’t gotta be producer, A&R, rapper and everything. We’re all here to help and facilitate. I’m definitely stepping up for the job.”

AND LUCKILY FOR US HIP HOP HEADS…

The microphone honcho made it clear that her does NOT foresee his new responsibilities as Prez affecting his ability to bless ears with the heat he’ll be dropping “Very Soon.”

THATS DOPE…

DO YOU THINK PUSHA T WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT OF G.O.O.D. MUSIC?
