Mariah Carey “mortified” by her New Year’s Eve performance

CLUTCH THE PEARLS, HONEYYY…

Though Mariah Carey seemed 1939439% unbothered both during and after her hard to watch cover-your-eyes-with-your- synthetic wig-bangs New Year’s Eve performance, the “Touch My Body,” singer recently revealed that she was “mortified” by the entire experience.

Shit happens 😩 Have a happy and healthy new year everybody!🎉 Here's to making more headlines in 2017 😂

On Saturday, the whole ass world watched in utter horror as the 46-year-old R&B baddie awkwardly mumbled and stumbled through a medley of her hits as she attempted to slay New York City’s Time Square stage for ABC’s annual Dick Clark’s Rockin New Years Eve concert.

Following the show, MiMi’s team alleged that her less-than-lit showmanship was due to her inability to hear her music thanks to the malfunctioning in-ear monitors she was given by the Dick Clark Productions in effort to increase their viewer ratings. An accusation that the company called “absurd.”

WELLL…

While chopping it up with Entertainment Weekly, the elusive chanteuse gave drop on what she feels went horribly wrong during her stage time and how she believes the late Dick Clark would feel about the nonsense surrounding her showcase.

“All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business,” Mariah spilled to the publication. “I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time.”

Regardless of the shame and social media slings that ensued following her train-wreck of a performance, the “Vision Of Love,” vocalist made it clear that she isn’t prepared to shy away from blessing the masses with her gifts in the future… Instead, she’ll just be more choosey about who she trusts.

“It will make me less trusting of using anyone outside of my own team,” she said.

“My true fans have been so supportive and I am so appreciative of them and everybody in the media that came out to support me after the fact,” Mariah added. “It really was an incredible holiday season that turned into a horrible New Year’s Eve.”
