Migos rejected by Late Night shows until Donald Glover’s Golden Globe nod

Though already enjoying a certain level of popularity amongst die-hard Hip-Hop heads and dab-happy culture vultures, rap collective, Migos, had no way of knowing that they’d be catapulted into the once un-welcoming arms of mainstream media all thanks to a co-sign from actor, Donald Glover…
Quavo, Offset, and TakeOff have undoubtedly blasted off into unfathomable heights of the superstar stratosphere thanks to the wild success of their most recent chart topping single, “Bad and Boujee”….
But if you let Pierre Thomas, the chief executive of Quality Control Music, tell it… the Atlanta reppin trio– who recently slayed for late night television junkies on Jimmy Kimmel Live!— was once harshly shunned by a number of TV shows until the award winning Atlanta star gave them a nod during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.

“They gave all kinds of excuses — not the right time, it’s not this, it’s not that,” Pierre served to the New York Times. “But as soon as Donald Glover did that, the next day, all the people who had just denied us wanted them on their show.”
As previously reported on Cheekywiki, Donald randomly said, “I’d like to thank the Migos—not for being on the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee.’ Like, that’s the best song… ever,” as he graciously received the award for Best Actor In A TV Comedy series. He later fortified his stance on the “Versace” spitting rappers by calling them, “the Beatles of this generation.”

Migos’ album, Culture, is slated for release today.
