Nas scores BET miniseries “Street Dreams”

ITS LIT…

While the whole-ass-world is steadily singing “Candy Girl,” and “Can You Stand The Rain,” due to the massive success of BET’s New Edition Story miniseries, it seems the network thought it only right they bless Hip-Hop’s Braveheart with a biopic chronicling the trials and tribulations of his rise to microphone superstardom, too.

Word on the block has it BET will soon be giving Nas an hour-long show based on the 43-year-old “One Mic” mastermind’s transformation from a kid coming up in the hood into one of the best rap artists to ever reach our ears.

According to Deadline, Nas’ series Street Dreams will take place in the early 90’s and “track the ascent of Nas, a young man from the Queensbridge projects who will go on to become a famous rapper, as he evolves from young man to crack dealer to rapper to adult.”

So far, no word on when the show is set to air or who’ll be granted the honor of portraying the Illmatic crooning monster… but Jonathon Levine will be writing & directing the pilot episode while Nas serves as executive producer.

WILL YOU BE WATCHING ?
