Nicki Minaj talks double standards, doing “anything” Jay-Z can do, and working w/ Beyonce

While her unmistakable curvy silhouette and her super plump Anaconda charming booty may be a few of the first things that immediately come to mind when thinking about Nicki Minaj, the Hip-Hop hottie is working overtime to add female empowerment to the top of the list of her many attractive qualities.
Serving as the cover girl for the November 2016 issue of Marie Claire magazine, the 32-year-old Queens bred rap goddess spilled on maintaining swag in an industry inundated with double standards pitted against black female emcees, emulating Jay-Z’s renown success, and being inspired to expand her “girl power” narrative through her close work with HOV’s better half, Beyonce.
When discussing the shade she often catches for showing off her bodacious BAWDY while Kanye West’s wife and other celebs who appeal to the white aesthetic are celebrated for flaunting their nude goodies, Nicki said, “When Kim Kardashian’s naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite.”

She added, “So it wasn’t trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a Black woman did it? It’s quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I’ve gotten accustomed to just shutting it down.”

In addition to being in the serious business of shutting double standards all the way down, the “Only” rhymer makes it clears that she is just as serious about modeling her career after a certain “Can’t Knock The Hustle” spitting industry G.O.A.T.
“I don’t need to read a book about [business]. I can look at someone’s career and just pinpoint the dos and the don’ts, and the one person I’ve done that with for my entire career was Jay Z,” she said.

“He did such a great job being an authentic street guy and a businessman, and I was like, Why aren’t there women doing that, taking the success from rap and channeling it into their empire? I felt like anything he could do, I could do.”
Furthering her burgeoning commitment to uplifting women worldwide, MUVA Minaj gave nod to the Flawless powerhouse that is Beyonce and how their tight bond motivates her to creatively promote female empowerment to the masses.

“Every time Bey and I do something together, I see how women are inspired, and it has nothing to do with how we look,”she served. “It has to do with how we are owning who we are and telling other women you should be the boss of your own career and the brains behind your life or your decisions or your art. I just love that feeling.”

The November 2016 edition of Marie Claire is scheduled to hit shelves on October 18.
