Pop singer George Michael dead at 53

R. I. P. 
British music legend, George Michael, passed away in his home in England due to heart failure on Christmas. He was 53. 

A rep for the “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” crooning luminary released a statement to the BBC saying, “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.”

The statement continued, “The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”


According to reports, George Michael’s corpse was recovered by emergency personnel who declared him deceased at the scene shortly before 2:00PM. 
In the months leading up to his death, the iconic 80s pop star–who sold more than 100 MILLION albums during his illustrious career in the limelight– was said to have been working on a Showtime movie about his life that was set to air in England next March.
Throughout his rise to immortalizing stardom, George Michael struggled with drug abuse and encountered a series of unfavorable run-ins with the law…
