Keeping with the new trend of showcasing the underground world of Hip-Hop on prime time TV, the 43-year-old So So Def Records frontman and the 45-year-old “U.N.I.T.Y.,” femcee are teaming up their talents for a new Lifetime series called The Rap Game.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the eight episode series will feature the grind of five emerging emcees–ranging in age from 12 to 16–as they maneuver throughout Atlanta’s hip-hop scene on a quest to become the next big name in rap.

With the help of music honchos such as Usher, Ludacris, Silento, and Da Brat, JD will mold the young industry wannabes into chart topping microphone slayers.

The winner of Rap Game, set to air at 10 PM on January 1, will receive a contract with Dupri’s So So Def label..
