Really Really: Kevin Gates’ prison release scheduled for next week

Kevin Gates will soon be allowed to strut through the exit of barb wire prison gates, and reassume his position as a free Hip-Hop heavyweight.

After serving a mere 9 months of his 30-month sentence for an outstanding weapons-related warrant in Chicago, the “2 Phones” rapper will reportedly be released, and placed on parole, as early as next week.

Kevin is scheduled to be freed on Wednesday, with release conditions that include mandatory supervision and no possession of firearms, according to TMZ’s Illinois Department of Correction sources.

As previously reported on Cheekywiki, last year, the “IDGT” lyricist served 5 months in a Florida prison for kicking a female fan in the chest during a concert back in 2015. On the day of his release—in March 2017—the Louisiana native was re-arrested for the outstanding warrant in the Windy City.

So far, there have been NO reports of new charges that might keep Kev locked up beyond his upcoming release date.
