Jennifer Holiday passes on performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration due to death threats

Dreamgirls star, Jennifer Holiday, has officially DEADED plans to lend her vocal talents to Donald Trump’s inauguration after people threatened to kill her and her family.

Over the weekend, the 56-year-old “And I Am Telling You,” singer penned a letter to masses explaining that she will NOT be slaying the microphone in honor of Trump’s induction into the annals of American history as the 45th president of the United States.
In her manifesto, provided to The Wrap on Saturday, Jennifer said, “Regretfully, I did not take into consideration that my performing for the concert would actually instead be taken as a political act against my own personal beliefs and be mistaken for support of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.”

She continued, “In light of the information pointed out to me via the Daily Beast article on yesterday, my only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT Community and to state unequivocally that I WILL NOT PERFORM FOR THE WELCOME CONCERT OR FOR ANY OF THE INAUGURATION FESTIVITIES!”
Though her desire to stan for her LGBT fans did reportedly play a role in her decision to side-step Trump’s inauguration, according to TMZ, the Tony Award winning chanteuse really passed on the performance due to the many death threats being hurled her wig’s way.
So far, it’s unclear exactly who was behind the threats… But apparently the culprits went HAM enough to scare her out of the deal she defended to Billboard saying, “I’m not singing for Donald Trump; I’m singing to welcome the people of America,” on Friday.
