Well DAMN: Kendrick Lamar leads the pack in 2017 MTV Video Music Awards nominations

Kendrick Lamar has every reason NOT to exercise humility as the rapper’s masterful visuals for “Humble” have earned him the most nominations at the 2017 Video Music Awards

As the inaugural year of MTV’s move to eliminate gendered VMAs categories–combining the awards for best male and female video into one category, Artist Of The Year–Compton’s 30-year-old “DNA” lyricist leads the pack by garnering seven of his eight nods for the groundbreaking music video that accompanied his chart-topping single, featured on his first-ever double platinum album, DAMN..

Kendrick’s “Humble” stands to take home a highly coveted MTV VMAs moon man for Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Choreography, Best Direction, and Best Art Direction..
