Whoopi Goldberg capes for Bill Maher’s N-word use; Ice Cube to confront him face-to-face

Bill Maher’s list of melanin-dipped supporters is dwindling down to almost none after the legendary comedian referred to himself as a “house n****r” on Friday’s episode of HBO’s, Real Time With Bill Maher.

While militant Hip-Hop heavyweights such as Ice Cube and Killer Mike are anxious to confront the 61-year-old joker for his liberal use of the racial slur, younger cultural leaders like Chance The Rapper and Deray McKesson have called for the premium cable network to cancel Bill’s fifteen season series in the wake of his unacceptable utterance…
However, the famously off-color comedian–who immediately issued an apology saying, “The word was offensive, and I regret saying it and am very sorry,” following the controversial joke’s airing– is finding an unlikely defender in Hollywood gem, Whoopi Goldberg, who caped for Bill’s N-word bomb during the Hot Topics segment of The View.

“…He didn’t call anybody [n****r], he called himself–which I always think is a good idea because, you should know that the word effects everybody. You are one as well,” the 61-year-old Academy Award winning actress said empathetically. “It’s a word that has way too much power and we’ve given it too much power because it has the ability to stop us in our tracks.”
After receiving some mixed reactions from her panel of co-hostesses, Whoopi then advised everyone to consider the source when the word comes in play…

And said she would have been pleased if someone would have said to Bill, “It’s about time you realized you’re [a n****] too.”

In the wake of Bill’s offensive comments, HBO released a statement calling his messy vocabulary, “completely inexcusable and tasteless,” the network also promised to ban the explicit language “from any subsequent airings of the show.”
Despite some protesting, Bill Maher will be allowed to return to the HBO talk program.
Ice Cube is set to appear on Real Time this Friday to discuss the 25th anniversary of his album “Death Certificate“… And, according to TMZ, will address Bill’s flagrant verbal foul head-on…
